PEER TO PEER CAREER MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME

For many young people growing up in households dependent on informal and daily wage work, navigating career choices can be
challenging. While aspirations are often high, access to career
guidance, professional networks, and reliable information about
educational and employment opportunities remains limited.
Recognising this gap, Nepathya Foundation initiated its Career Mentorship Sessions to equip young people with the information, confidence and practical skills needed to make informed career decisions.
Over a period of three months, we organised 12 career mentorship sessions, designed around the interests, aspirations and identified needs of young people in our community. These sessions covered the following topics -
-
Exploring career pathways: Understanding opportunities in self-employment, entrepreneurship, chartered accountancy, teaching, medicine and government examinations.
-
Professional readiness: Learning how to prepare resumes, interview practices, build LinkedIn profiles and communicate and use it effectively.
-
Higher education and fellowships: Understanding opportunities for further education, scholarships and fellowships.

Across the 12 sessions, the project engaged with 100+ beneficiaries.
