ZENITH MP MIGRANT VOLUNTEERSHIP
The nationwide lockdown due to the pandemic was a time of immense uncertainty for everyone. Migrants faced not only the immediate threat of the pandemic but also an abrupt loss of their livelihood. The pandemic proved to be a real testing time for them. Based on this, Nepathya Foundation joined hands with Zenith Law Society to document the experiences of many such migrants who moved from Maharashtra to Madhya Pradesh - their homeland. With an aim to spread awareness about the unequal circumstances that the workers are subjected to, over 70 migrants belonging to the district of Bhind in Madhya Pradesh were contacted. Through the accounts of the migrants, Nepathya got an opportunity to directly interact with its beneficiaries and explore the personal issues faced by these workers along with the structural loopholes in their transportation, allocation of funds and food supply so that such gaps in management could be brought to the forefront to promote adequate recognition by government authorities.
